Directions to Kever: The Beth Olam Cemetery is located on the Eastern side (towards Queens) of the Jackie Robinson Parkway on the Cypress Hills / Ridgewood border in Queens. The cemetery is kept in pristine condition however, unfortunately their records are in total disarray and paths are not well marked. Location: To the left of the Chapel Building, up the hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon.

Bio Notes:
Rev Yisroel Ber Kursheedt is the only known talmid (student) of Rav Nosson Adler the Rebbe of the Chasam Sofer to be buried in the United States. Rev Kursheedt was a contemporary of Rav Avroham Bing and Rav Wolf Heidenheim. It is reported that Rav Adler held these three students in equal esteem and was quoted to have said Avroham is a charif, Wolf is a medackdek, and Yisroel is a chochem.

Rabbi Kursheed maried Abigayil the daughter of the famous Rabbi Gershon Mindes Seixes. He had a son a rabbi in New Orleans his name was Gershom Kursheedt.

Reb Gershom returned the famed philanthropist Yuda Tura to Judaism. And later he went together on a trip with Sir Moshe Mantefiora to palastine to build up the hospital.

Solomon Isaacs was related to the most powerful, respected Sephardic families in America through his marriage to Elkalah Kursheedt, granddaughter of Gershom Mendes Seixas.
