Reb Abba Goldberg was the son of Reb Tuvia Goldberg and Leah (Margolis) Goldberg. Leah Margolis was the daughter of Rav Gavriel Zeev (Velvele) Margolis (who is on this website as well).
He was born in Jerusalem and was married to Miriam Blazer, daughter of Rav Yitzchak Blazer, known as Reb Itzele Peterberger, who was a talmid of Rav Yisrael Salanter.
He moved to the US in the early 1930’s and was a shochet in Massachusetts. Later he moved to Minneapolis.
He was my great-grandfather.

Did his father Reb Tovia Goldberg (SIL of Reb Velvel) live here in the US as well?

Tuvia Goldberg did not live in the US. He grew up in Grodna and moved to Jerusalem as a young man. His home remained in Jersulem for his whole life. He sold esrogim and citrus fruits in the US. He died in the US during one of his trips there in a train crash in 1924, and he was buried in Jerusalem. You can find him on the geni website (I put him on it).
So I guess he was in the Esrogim business together with his brother-in-law Reb Yosef Zundel Salant?
There was another Rabbi Goldberg here in the US, his name was Tzvi Yaakov Goldberg who authored the sefer Minchas Yaakov:

Regarding both of your questions, I don’t know. Are you related to the Rav Miller who wrote a biography of Rav Nachumke Kaplan of Grodna? or to the Sara Roiza (Miller) Lauer family?
Where was the biography of Rav Nachum of Grodna written and printed?
The biography is called “Toldos Menachem” (Rav Nachum’s name was Menachem Nachum). It was written by Rav Yisroel Dovid Miller of Grodna, a talmid of Rav Nachum, I think in 1889. The edition I have was printed by the author’s son Aryeh Leib Miller in 1913 in Pyetrokov.
Seems that he wasn’t really a SIL of Reb Itzele, but a step-SIL. His wife was the daughter of Reb Itzele’s wife from her first marriage. See here: http://www.otzar.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4373#p33350.

Miriam Goldberg was the daughter of Rav Itzele himself – not just a step-daughter
Her mother – Chaya Blazer was originally married to Avrohom Aharon Shatzkes – and had 4 children – Moshe Shatzkes, Aaron Shatzkes, Rachel Arest [married to Eliyahu Arest who was the shochet in Moscow and was murdered in 1920] and Chaim Shatzkes [who died as a bochur in Europe] . Avrohom Aharon died before the youngest son – Aaron – was born – he was named after his father.
A number of years later, Chaya married Reb Itzele – and had one son – Shlomo Blazer as well as Miriam [Goldberg], Chana and Brainda [who both were married to Rav Chizkiyahu Yosef Miskovsky, the Rav of Krinik. Chana died young and Rav Mishkovsky married his sister-in-law]
